Personality/Background: As a cub, Ritara was quite a curious jaguar. With both her parents watching her every move, she would run through the trees, climb the trees and run through the branches, come inches away from possible near death experiences and basically be just another troublesome child. it probably didn't help that she was the fastest jaguar ever to be born, with speeds matching - if not surpassing - that of a cheetah's. What she didn't know, however, was that when she thought she was away from her parents' gazes, she was under the watchful eye of her older brother, Miguel. Her most notable experience of this is when she came across a human campsite with a still burning fire. Her first meeting with fire ended with a burnt foot and since then Ritara has feared 'the bright beast' with a passion. it was also the first time she met her brother for it was he who had pulled her away from the hunter's' camp. Of course, she never knew who that mysterious jaguar was until years later. Sadly, only a few days later, the hunters found her and managed to kill her father while he was trying to protect his daughter.
After the death of her father, Ritara was taken away by her mother to live with the native tribe as one of their own. there, they were worshiped as living gods. The reason for this was because they had to become human in order to live with humans. But there comes a time where even animals can tire of humans and their pampering. One night, as jaguars, both Ritara and her mother left the natives. Ritara, by this time, was old enough to start life on her own, but she had seen a glimpse of human life and thought it better than the life she was born into. It was upon her insistence that she and her mother began to live life as humans.
But the past is not easily forgotten. As humans, Ritara and her mother travelled and worked enough to earn passports, tickets, and a new life in Australia. Alas the hunters returned. Three months after getting settled within her new life in Australia, a son of one of the hunters that had killed her father found Ritara and her mother. The young jaguaress tried to defend both her mother and herself, but it was during those three times that she tried that she got wounded in the shoulder by the gun which the hunter carried and had already taken the life of her father. By this time, she was in excruciating pain and unable to get up, barely keeping hold of consciousness. Thus her mother - like her father before her - was taken by the hunter despite her best efforts. The last thing Ritara remembered about that day before she succumbed to unconsciousness was the sight of her neighbour slamming her garbage bin over the hunter's head.
From that day on, Ritara went to live with her neighbour, a man by the name of Rico Ventua. It wasn't until well after she had met her boyfriend and future husband, Choby Vitello, and had a few incidents concerning hunters and fires that she discovered who Rico really was; her mother's half-brother. And even though she was glad of the discovery, she was even more happy to be with Choby and their young family.
But the stillbirth of one of her children struck her hard, and though she would not have another stillborn in her life, she made a silent vow to never let anyone precious to her be taken away from her. Unfortunately, that vow was broken when her husband Choby lost his life protecting their friend Kilier Haythen nee Rook. But still she remained a strong woman who everyone seemed to look up to despite her past.
The last memory of Ritara can only be explained by her children who were all with her in the hospital the day she died. Mere moments before she fell asleep never to wake again, she was heard saying that she was glad that Choby was there by her bedside. Only, in the eyes of the children, their father was nowhere in sight.
