Personality/Background: Like his sister before him, Zolo was born in New Zealand to a Maori mother and a European New Zealander father with their marriage being under the conditions that any children they had together be marked with the heritage they were born with. Because of this condition, Zolo was marked with traditional ta moko (Maori tattoos); Zolo being given markings that depicted the double twist to represent the combining of Maori and European heritage as well as the fish hook to represent strength and good luck along the right side of his chin, jaw, nose and eye area, and the center of his forehead. He got his moko at the age of ten, just like his sister. However, unlike his sister who received her hei tiki necklace after their mother had been killed in a car accident, Zolo received his Hei Matau (fish hook) necklace almost as soon as he was born. It was also discovered that he was born with diabetes, which the family closely monitored.
The most surprising thing about the necklace that Zolo wears is that it was given to him by his father who had been more than happy to accept that his children would be exposed to maori traditions from the start. Sadly, things began to change when his father began thinking that the maori traditions were taking over the european traditions that he himself had been brought up with. Thus both Zolo and his sister were witness to their mother being verbally beaten - and at times physically as well - by their father as they grew up; both gaining a hatred to the man for being mean to their mother. And though Zolo wasn't as troublesome as Kilier was towards his father, the fact that he was still cold to the man was enough to send him over the deep end. Shortly after returning home from a visit to see their Aunt and cousin in Australia (this same visit brought forth the ability to morph into a wolf on request of their father), Zolo's father took flight in his aeroplane and crashed into the side of a mountain.
After the family permanently moved to Australia, yet another accident occurred. This time it was to their Mother. Upon hearing the news that she had been victim to a car crash that included two trucks and a deer, Zolo lost it. For the first couple of days, he acted more like a zombie than a living being. Once his brain had finally absorbed what had happened, he took off. And, being a diabetic, his running away sent the family into a panic with the police and the Rebels quickly getting involved. The sad thing was, it took them just over a month just to find him, and he was in bad shape when they did. The others were just thankful that he hadn't gone into Lone Drover's Pass (though that may have been because the pass was also the site of the car accident that his mother was a victim of) other wise no one would have been able to find him.
Thankfully, he was found, though it was by a family that lived on the other side of the city. Their animal control report of a large gold and brown dog roaming their street and the near-by playground as well as the disturbances and admittedly house break-ins it seemed to be doing was enough for the police to be dragged in. After that, he was quickly identified, captured (though with a safe dose of tranquilizer) and taken to the Forza Veterinary Clinic where it seemed everyone was lining up to tell him off for running away once he had woken up. It was only after his Aunt had questioned how he had been able to keep his sugars relatively stable that he admitted to breaking into peoples houses in search of sugar rich foods like lollies and fruit. Unfortunately, he still had to pay everybody back for the food that he had stolen so, after his mother's funeral and with the help of his Aunt and cousin, he was forced to make little fruit baskets for all the houses that he had been near... which was to say the entire street.
But despite all this, Zolo has a very protective nature about him. Yet another similarity between him and his sister, which is probably why they are always arguing with each other. Zolo will willingly put his life in danger if it was to save the life or lives of others. Unfortunately, whenever something goes wrong and someone he deeply cares for, like his girlfriend, sadly loses their life, he always seems to blame himself for not being able to save them in time. Regardless, he - as with everyone - does like a good joke every now and then just to break through the seriousness.
Only, his happiness seemed to drain out of him thanks to the death of one of his best friends, Mikon. Thanks to this change in personality, Zolo lost his second girlfriend, who didn't want to see the person she was willing to spend the rest of her life with in such a serious and sad state as the one that Zolo had put himself in. So she left him in the hopes that someone or something else would brighten his future. This, of course, started out as a bad move. Zolo took it the wrong way and, once more, ran off. Thankfully, though, his family and his other friends knew where he was and so managed to track him to the valley where the Rebels wolf pack lived. Admittedly, once a day he would have to go over to the Forza's in order to get his daily amount of insulin, but he generally stayed with the wolf pack for a few months.
It was there that he met Luna and eventually they got married and started a family together. But where as Zolo would have liked to have at least one human born child, Luna was adamant that she give birth to pups. She did, however, leave the pack to be with her boyfriend/husband in the human world. They lived happily for a while, raising their children. But Zolo's work was with the Australian Army, so there were times when he would have to travel to the mainland for a period of time. This meant that his family was also forced to move. When he was called to action, though, Zolo would send Luna and their children back home to Mythos Island where he knew that they would be safe.
Unfortunately, during his fourth deployment in the Australian Army, Zolo was killed in action thanks to a hidden bomb. His fellow officers did everything they could to try and bring him back, but he was lost in the end. The medals he earned during his time in the Army were given to his eldest son, Logan, while his body underwent Maori funeral rights.
