Personality/Background: Tika was born in Africa to a small hyena clan in Nigeria that consisted of three females and two males. As a child of the lowest ranking female
in the clan, she was constantly being bullied by the two older female cubs in the clan who belonged to the leader. It was during one of their more dangerous tussles with the leader's cubs that both Tika and her brother, Banzai, were separated from the rest of the clan, effectively getting lost in the process despite their mother looking for them. Out of the two, it was Tika who tried her best to protect both herself and her brother from the dangers that surrounded them, but her attempts to fight off a vulture ended with her breaking one of her legs. It wasn't long after that that both hyena cubs were found by animal aid workers and taken to an animal welfare building where Tika's leg was fixed and the pair were introduced to two older hyenas in an attempt to rehabilitate them. Unfortunately, instead of returning to the wild like the animal aid workers had hoped, the two cubs were bought by Mythos Zoo along with the two older hyenas the siblings had been paired with in order to star in the zoo's new hyena enclosure.
Banzai loved it in the zoo - he wasn't bullied by the two older hyenas like he had been in his birth clan - but Tika didn't like being confined within the walls of the zoo and often tried to escape. The zookeepers honestly didn't know what to do with her, especially when she often found herself lost and in some other part of the zoo in her attempt to get out... and they tried everything they could think of in order to keep her in her enclosure. Eventually, TIka managed to find her way out of the zoo entirely and, though she was glad to be out of the place, she quickly realised she was no longer in Africa. So she took to the streets, hiding in alley ways and eating scraps from garbage bins all the while trying to avoid humans.
It was during this time that Tika discovered that being a human child gave her more of a change to blend in and survive. Unfortunately, when she did become a human, she was introduced to a new problem; her new human form had taken her age into account and had turned her into an eighteen month old human child. Needless to say, she was quickly picked up by a young couple who, after realising that she was alone, adopted her. The only word she could say as a human child was her name, so the young couple gave her the name Tika. It was another five years with the Koroma family before the small family of three added a new member in the form of baby Jordon. Tika loved her new baby brother and never once questioned why she had a different skin colour to her family or why she was adopted, but if there was one thing she didn't want for her new brother, it was the ability to morph. Thanks to her own experience, she found morphing to be a very confusing thing and did not want her little brother to be confused the way she had been.
It was upon entering high school that she met Damien Wolfe and Zolo Rook and, despite not actually showing it, she saw something in Damien that she had never before seen in any boy that she had previously met, be it family or friend. From that day on, she began following Damien around, trying to figure out what it was that she saw in the boy. It took her almost a year to realise that she was in love with the clouded leopard morpher but as soon as she did, she acted quickly and claimed the boy as her boyfriend, much to the disappointment of her long time friend Barega Lutari. Tika was strong when she had Damien by her side, stronger than what she already had been when she was alone, but she was at her strongest when Damien's sister, Leiden was killed during a gang fight and he needed her the most.
Probably the toughest time in Tika's life came when, after years of being partners with Damien, Barega finally came out to her and admitted his feeling for her. It broke her heart to have to turn him away, but she hadn't realised how tough the dingo morpher took her answer until it was too late. After accepting Damien's hand in marriage not two weeks later, Tika noticed that Barega wasn't transforming and wasn't eating, so she took him into her house and tried to make sure that he was okay despite not knowing what it was that had caused his sudden downfall in health. About a year later, when she found out that she was pregnant with Damien's first child, it was Tika who walked into the lounge room to find that her long time friend had passed away due to a broken heart.
The devastation she felt at the loss of her friend nearly caused Tika to lose her unborn child, but luckily Damien was there to help her through it just like she had been for him. In fact, it was Damien's choice to name their newborn son - born mere months after the incident - after the dingo morpher in his honour. For the next ten years, Tika spent her time looking after her son and getting over her friend's death by investing what she could in her dancing. She never expected when she became pregnant with twins Dante and Lyza until her adoptive mother pointed out that she was getting angrier a lot easier, similar to when she had been pregnant with young Barega. But she made sure to love all three of her children equally and help them prepare for their own lives. Unfortunately, she couldn't stop her son, Barega, from getting an animal form despite not wanting any of her children to become morphers.
