Personality/Background: Born in China in the year 1252, Akyla was raised solely by her mother in the historic regions of southern China. As she grew older, she traveled to her new territory where - upon reaching eight years of age - she met the time travelling members of the Rebels Gang. At first she was wary of the newcomers, always watching them from the safety of the shadows, but she quite quickly started to fall in love with Shun... especially when she saw him transform into his panda form for the first time. In fact, she wasn't disgusted at all by the fact that these newcomers could change into various animals. Unfortunately, her spy-like tendancies forced her to be captured by none other than Kublai Khan and it was the Rebels who inadvertently rescued her alongside Shun when he too was captured. After her freedom, Akyla followed the Rebels from the year 1260 back to their own time and their own home in the year 2008. Now, stuck in the future, Akyla has chosen to become one with her inner human and, as long as Shun agrees, has chosen to become mates with the only other panda in the Rebels gang.
After learning the native language of English, Akyla seemed happy with her new life in the future. She took pride in her natural Chinese calligraphy skills and spent every moment she could catching up on what she had missed out on in Chinese history. But Shun could tell that she was missing her old home. Sadly, no matter what he did to make her feel at home in Australia, Akyla asked Julien to take her to a temple in China where she spent the next year of her life reflecting on all that happened. It took a begging Shun to show up at the temple to convince her to return to Australia where the two promised each other the comfort they both needed.
It took a little while, but Akyla soon got used to her new life. She graduated from both school and university and even started her own business teaching the art of calligraphy. At the age of twenty-five, Akyla married Shun, with their wedding a mix between Chinese and Japanese traditions. Shortly afterwards, the two were graced with the births of their twin children Kokoda and Xia. Unfortunately, Akyla would only suckle Xia, the youngest of the twins; her panda mentality taking over once the twin were born despite having said that she would take care of both of the twins. Thankfully Shun was there to help care for Kokoda but despite Akyla watching the hard times her husband was going through looking after their son, her mind would not allow her heart to help. And Shun could see that Akyla wanted to help him look after their son, so, with work starting to loom over the family once more, Shun started to help Akyla deal with the prospect of raising two children instead of one. With the help, Akyla was able to care for both of her children, both of which grew into strong, healthy, adults.
