Personality: Barega was born to a pack of dingoes in the wilds of Mythos Island alongside his two brothers - Otella and Balunn - and two sisters - Kaia and Ekala. As a pup, Barega was often found exploring the outskirts of Argetgarm City, his curiosity getting the better of him whenever it came to humans. And even though his parents practically drilled into him the dangers of humans, he would ignore them and still find himself in human territory. So it was, that once Barega was old enough to leave the pack, there was no surprise that he ended up in the streets of Argetgarm. Unfortunately, his constant raids of restaurants and their garbage bins branded him as a problem animal and animal authorities were sent after him. For months, Barega was on the run from the law, surprisingly not wanting to return to the wild. He had, after all, seemed to make a lot of friends with some of the restaurant patrons and workers that he visited. But, eventually, he was out smarted and was captured. If it weren't for an older Aboriginal man by the name of Coen Lutari who decided to adopt and care for him like a son, Barega would have either been returned to the wild or else put to sleep. The only condition to Barega's new life with Coen Lutari; he had to gain a human form and go to a human school.
Barega took this news exceptionally well. The way he saw it, he was getting to know more about the human world. What he didn't realise was that the morphing injection he was forced to have would transfer his animal age into his new, human form, turning him into a twelve year old Aboriginal boy. Because of this, Barega was tutored night and day for the next year by his adoptive father and by a government aid worker just to get him up to speed with other children his age. What they found was that the now dingo morpher was quite a fast learner and, come the start of the next school year, he was placed into the local school alongside students of the same educational level as he. Of course, Barega's smarts always seemed to be hidden by his tendency to bring joy and laughter to those around him.
It was at school where Barega's joyous attitude towards life caught the attention of lioness morpher, Leiden Wolfe, who came to him in the hopes that he could lift the spirit of her group leader, Kilier Rook. It was an easy task, that first time, but Barega made it his mission to make sure that the girls he had surrounded himself with were always happy. So he became the groups joker... but the one thing he took seriously was who he loved. The only problem was, the one he fell in love with was a hyena morpher by the name of Tika and she already had a boyfriend... Leiden's twin brother, Damien. Knowing that the one he loved loved someone else made it difficult to interact with both Tika and Damien, but somehow Barega managed to keep a smile around the two... even if it was forced at times. There was always the hope that Tika would stop loving Damien. And it never stopped Barega from trying to be the best friend that Tika ever had.
Unfortunately, after years of trying to give Tika hints about his love for her, Barega realised that it was going to take more than hints for the hyena to know the truth. So he gathered up the courage and pulled Tika aside - Damien following in preparation for a fight - so that he could talk to her and explain to her that he loved her. The pain of having to make Tika choose between him and Damien weighed against Barega's chest like a stone, but it was nothing compared to the pain he felt later on when the one he loved chose Damien over him. After walking off with what dignity he had left, Barega spent the night in his true form. He was never able to morph again after that nor was he able to smile. In his depression, he ran away from home and tried to make a living as a wild dingo once more.
It was two weeks later that Tika found Barega lying on the beach as a dingo and looking like he hadn't eaten since she had last seen him. So, being the loving person she was, she took him to her home and tried to nurse him back to health. With her care, Barega's health returned, but his smile didn't. And it was clear that, despite the fact that he tried to smile around the newly engaged couple, the smiles were fake thanks to the pain of being that close to what he couldn't have. So, to try and make him happy, Tika and Damien both decided to have Barega live with them. Sadly, the pain only worsened when Tika and Damien were married nearly a year later.
Finally, exactly a year after he had been rejected, Tika came up to both him and Damien and exclaimed that she was pregnant. It was the final straw for Barega who, even through all the years as a human, still had the mentality of a dingo. To him, the news of a baby meant that Tika and Damien had started their new pack. So, even though he tried to be happy for the two, he couldn't stop the pain from exploding within his chest as he moved into the lounge room and lay down in his favourite spot in the middle of the room. It was with a final prayer to the ancestors of the Dreamtime for the new family that Barega closed his eyes and never woke. It wasn't until Tika had found his body and Damien had called Bosko Forza that it was discovered that Barega had died of a broken heart.
