Personality/Background: Runo was born in the Isle of Dragons and into the Crystal Keeper's Pride. She is the eldest born of all seven of her father's children, however she only has one full-blood sister, Zoja, who is younger than her. As is tradition within the pride, Danazo the Crystal Keeper (and her father), claimed her as his heir to guard the Royal Crystals of the King of Dragons. From a young age, Runo was taught the ways of the Crystal Keeper alongside her sister, who she refused to do the lessons without. When Runo turned one, her father took her to gain a human morph as it was a requirement for being a Crystal Keeper. The morph aged her into a ten year old human. Unbeknownst to her parents, Runo took Zoja to get her own human morph not long afterwards.
The reason for Runo wanting her sister to be with her all the time was because she knew from an early age that she never wanted to become the next Crystal Keeper despite loving the beauty and power within crystals. She also knew that her sister was envious of her being the chosen one. So Runo took it upon herself make sure Zoja learned everything Danazo taught her. She even made sure Zoja went to school with her after her parents discovered that the younger of the two could also morph. Finally, after turning sixteen, Runo confronted her father with her wishes to go into and learn about the wider world. This led into the conversation where she explained to Danazo that she did not wish to become the next Crystal Keeper but knew that Zoja did wish to continue the family traditions. After some thought and realisations on Danazo's part, the Crystal Keeper allowed his eldest daughter to follow her dreams and began focussing on his lessons with Zoja who was more than happy to finally be recognised.
Runo quickly joined the school's 'World Discovery Program' where she and four other students were given the opportunity to live and learn in the world beyond the Isle of Dragons. Her group of five was placed under the care of Julien Guerra, Keeper of Time, where they lived as boarders within his house and were enrolled in Cylus Beach High School. Runo became quick friends with Axel, Dakarai, Cara and Lexi, the other members of her group, and spent her first year in Australia exploring Argetgarm with them. It wasn't until they were all seventeen that Dakarai suggested they find out where Mr Julien and Ms Saran (as they called their carer and his wife) often disappeared to, quickly finding themselves hiding behind Kubikuro Haythen's house as they witnessed an all in Rebels meeting. And they would have remained hidden had it not been for poor Axel, who was terminally ill, giving them away with one of his many coughing fits.
Surprisingly, the Rebels were quiet friendly with them, answering any questions the group had about what was going on but at the same time, making sure that their answers were basic and didn't give too much away. But with Axel having forgotten to take his medications with him before leaving the house, Julien had to cut short their question time and take the group of five back to his house. Even so, Runo found herself curious about what she had seen and, alongside Lexi who was a curious learner, managed to convince the other three that it could be a good learning experience for them to join the Rebels. About a week later, the five friends confronted Julien and Saran about joining the Rebels. They, in turn, took them to consult with the Rebels leaders and sub leaders, who, after witnessing their morphs and learning about their backgrounds a little, made sure that their plan wasn't some short term idea before placing them into the Rebels Ancients. The only issue Axel had with all this was what their parents would think if they were able to join. As a response, Julien invited their parents to stay for a week in Argetgarm where they learned of what their children got up to and, more importantly, that they wanted to join a rather harmless gang of creatures that could morph.
Four years later, Runo found she had made quite a few friends and even formed a small crush on one of them. In fact, it was Michelle Vigor, that very crush, who invited her to go clubbing with a small group of their friends. The reason behind the invite was because Michelle didn't want to feel like the only one of their friends who hadn't been to a club before and so had wanted company in case the others managed to get themselves lost in the moment. Things didn't go as planned and Runo found herself worrying for Michelle, who quickly found she didn't take well to drinking and ended up getting drunk. Runo made it her personal mission to keep an eye on her friend, but the one time she turned away, the Gryphon morpher disappeared. She learned the day after that Michelle had left with a stranger in her drunken haze and had had intercourse with him. Even worse, Michelle feared that she had fallen pregnant. That confirmation came three weeks later when Runo found Michelle outside her door and in tears.
Over the months that Michelle carried her child, Runo made sure to stay by her side, comforting her and generally being there whenever her friend needed her. She also found her crush getting stronger by the day. But she managed to keep her feelings in check. When Michelle gave her an envelope that contained the baby's gender, Runo was honoured. She made sure to set up a friends only baby shower that was gender neutral and made sure everything was right for Michelle when she knew her family wasn't going to be there. And when Michelle had the baby boy that she named Bernard, Runo offered them both a place to stay as soon as she found out that Michelle had been disowned. What neither of them expected was for the both of them to gain strong feelings for each other, although Runo made sure to give Michelle her space once she realised what was happening.
About a year later, Michelle confronted Runo with her feelings, which Runo reciprocated. And, three years later, when Bernard was four, the two got married. Runo even adopted Bernard with Michelle changing both hers and her son's surname to Vigor-Lorhart. As promised, for their honeymoon, Runo took Michelle to the Isle of Dragons to meet her Pride. There the two underwent the family tradition of the Crystal Ritual, where they carved a crystal chamber that would forever entomb one of their feathers before placing their carved crystal around the neck of their mate. Within the next year, Runo voiced her desire to adopt a second child of her own, hoping to give Bernard a younger sibling. The surprise she got when, a few months after their first wedding anniversary, Michelle made the decision to adopt an orphan winged lion cub into their small family, made Runo's heart melt.
Welcoming a male winged lion cub named Gahiji into the family was, at first, challenging. Especially when it was discovered that Bernard was somewhat jealous of his new little brother. But somehow both Michelle and Runo managed to find peace between the brothers and things started to work out. Gahiji took well to his new life as a human morpher living in Australia and, despite having been turned into a three year old due to the morph, looked up to his new brother. Runo stayed at home most of the time, caring for both of her sons while still managing to work in her crystal shop which she held online from within her home.
